ISEE/SSAT Prep Program

Our ISEE/SSAT prep program is designed to help students build the academic skills, confidence, and test-taking strategies needed to perform their best on private school entrance exams.

Getting Started

Step 1: Initial Assessment Session

The first tutoring session is 3 hours and includes a full-length ISEE or SSAT practice test administered by the tutor. This initial assessment provides valuable insight into the student’s current skill level and serves as the foundation for their personalized study plan.

Having the tutor present ensures that:

• The practice test is completed correctly from start to finish.
• The online test is properly saved and submitted. (Some testing platforms may lose progress if a browser tab is accidentally closed.)
• The student takes the assessment seriously and completes the test under realistic testing conditions
• The tutor can observe the student’s pacing, testing strategies, confidence, and areas of difficulty throughout the exam.
• During the essay portion, the tutor discusses effective essay-writing strategies and reviews examples of the types of prompts students may encounter on the official exam.
• The tutor has time at the end of the session to review the results with the parent and explain the student’s strengths and areas for improvement.

This comprehensive first session allows the tutor to create a customized tutoring plan that targets the areas where your student will benefit most.

Recommended Schedule

After the initial 3-hour assessment session, we recommend students attend:

• 2 sessions per week
• 1.5 hours per session
• Approximately 30–60 minutes of homework per day, assigned by the tutor

We understand that this schedule may not be possible for every student during the school year. If needed, the program can be adjusted to fit your student’s academic and extracurricular commitments

Tuition

• $100 per hour
• $300 for the initial 3-hour assessment session
• $150 per 1.5-hour session thereafter

Tuition is billed monthly in advance on the 1st of each month and sent to the parent’s email address.

We accept:

• ACH (bank transfer)
• Credit card

Weekend Sessions: Sessions held on Saturdays or Sundays include an additional $10 per hour weekend fee.

Personalized Study Plan

A $100 monthly Study Plan Fee is charged on the 1st of each month.

Outside of tutoring sessions, your tutor creates and updates a personalized study plan based on your student’s strengths, areas for improvement, target schools, and testing timeline.

Parents receive a copy of the study plan each month so they can easily follow their student’s progress, including:

• The topics covered during each session
• Homework assignments
• Overall progress and next steps

This ongoing planning ensures every tutoring session is purposeful and keeps students on track to achieve their admissions goals.

Required Workbook

To support your student’s preparation, we will send parents an Amazon link to purchase the recommended ISEE/SSAT workbook before tutoring begins. The workbook costs approximately $40.

The workbook is used during tutoring sessions and for homework assignments, allowing students to continue practicing between sessions while helping the tutor monitor the student’s progress throughout the program.

Tutoring Options

ISEE/SSAT tutoring is available in person at the student’s home, at a mutually agreed-upon location, or online.
